Force India Formula 1 team were among various teams who brought major upgrades ahead of F1’s return to Europe for the Spanish Grand Prix, as the Silverstone outfit hopes to lead the midfield charge.
Some of the most notable changes on the Force India for this weekends Spanish Grand Prix is the revised bargeboards on the car as well as a fully upgraded front-wing, which also comes with a color change.
Along with various changes, the team introduced a plank in the bargeboard area, which will debut for the Spanish GP, as the team hope to maintain fourth place in the constructors, with the top three well out of reach.
The team also introduced a completely redesigned front wing — which is now fully pink, as before it was black — and the wing now consists of five elements, which is up from three elements, from the previous front wing, that was run until the Russian Grand Prix.
It is understood that the new front wing and bargeboards will work together to improve efficiency and condition the air through the middle of the car — via bargeboards and side-pots — to the rear of the car, which would reap the rewards; more downforce with increased conditioned air running through the diffusor and via the rear wing.
